The following event took place in Bradofrd on Nov 15th 2008.
Dina was kind to produce an itinary - which surprisingly went to plan, as below. This is a second revision, as orignially the grooms party was to attand the Puja in the morning at the Usher Street Hall. This was subsequently changed because it ment The grooms partiy getting to Bradford an hour earlier in the morning. Plus the Puja could be done at Dinas house, therefore making it easier for her to get changed after the puja and then head straight to the Registry hall.
It should be noted that the User Street Hall was made avaliable very late the night before for decorations by the owners. 10pm on the 14th November was when access was availible to decorate the hall. Big thank you to those that helped and stayed late into the night to set up the hall.
The final note and a reminder for all those who intend to get married, make sure you know how to get to the registry hall or you follow someone who knows how to get there. Me (the groom), almost arrived late due to a changes in 1 way system in Bradord Town Centre.
Ritesh & Dina - Register Itinary
Saturday 15th November 2008
7am-7.30am- All Dinas family at her dads home
(Reminder - CD to be played at the register hall to be put in car - tracks; - Celin Dion 'Falling Into You', Stone Roses '10 Storey Love songs' and Lemar acoustic live lounge'Belive in a Thing Called Love')
7.30-8am- Ganpati Puja at home
9am - Ritesh and family arrive at hall (Usher Street, Punjabi Community Centre)
9am- 10am- Tea and snacks will be served to guests at hall
Dina to be picked up by bhai and bhabi from home to set off to the Register Hall
10am- 12pm: Main table to be set up
DJ set up
Tables: crisps, ghathia, all soft drinks, bottles of wine, water, glasses
Flowers on tables (Jaina will take these off Sandra)
10am - 25 people from each family will go to the register office (The Register Office,
22 Manor Row, Bradford, BD1 4QR)
10am-10.15am - Dina will arrive at the register office
10.30am - Offiicial Legal ceremony will take place
Family pictures only- Ritesh, Dad, Mum and brother, Dina, Ba, Dad, Bhai and Bhabi
11am - family arrive back at the hall (Usher Street)
Ritesh and Dina (Shilpa) will go and have their pictures taken with photographer, went to Gardens of Lister Park, Cartwright Hall
12pm- 12.30pm - Dina and Ritesh arrive to the hall (Usher Street)
Get 3 chairs ready for Sagay infront of main table
12pm- bring food from mandir
12.30- 1.00 - SAGAY
(while sagay takes place, get champagne ready for guests)
When sagay finishes, move table into position and get Main cake ready on table
1.00 - Make a toast and then cut the cake
1.30 onwards - invite family and friends to have photo’s taken
Dinner should be served from 1.30pm
Ritesh and Dina will appoint family member from each side to gather family/friends to have photo’s taken (Dina - Ajay, Ritesh - Kulpesh). Ritesh’s side of the family will have their photo’s taken first
3pm - Ritesh and Dina hand out Bonbeneri (nani, Bhabi)
4.30 - pm Ritesh and dina head back to Manchester
